A CALL FOR CREATIVITY!

Although his studies were focused in applied media arts and animation. Amatangelo is widely known as an Abstract Illusionist. With a background in engineering and graphic design, he has spent the last 10 years as a Packaging Engineer. Amatangelo strives to integrate his knowledge to portray a new style in contemporary art without constrictions of the imagination.

Brian is a Kenton based artist who was born and raised in northern California and only recently moved to his father’s home town in Ohio. (this helps explain his being raised a buckeye fan.)

Having pursued art business since the early 90’s, he has been fortunate to participate in numerous public art displays and projects.

Whether drawing cartoons, creating custom/commercial/graphic art and/or designs for publications, private clients or public spaces, or painting murals, houses, windows or faces, the artist strives to present high quality, customer oriented, visually pleasing works that both excite and stimulate the viewer.

Brian has participated in street festivals, art auctions, special showing and art fairs, and more, often involving Brutus Buckeye in place of human figures,so much so that many west coast artists he has collaborated with jokingly refer to him as “the buckeye”. knowing this, it becomes obvious how excited he is to be involved in an actual Brutus related project. (look at the “script ohio” photo)

while no website is available at this time, the artist encourages contact through a special gmail account (HMXBUX@gmail.com) and looks forward to interacting with and serving art patrons and clients in the area for years to come.

My name is Dave Lattimer and I am the husband of Kim Lattimer. I have assisted Kim with many of the Brutus Buckeye designs in a limited capacity. However, I had been asked to do the “Tin Man” project on my own and I had a great experience putting this together. Kim helped paint the face. However I had constructed the “Tin Man” and I hope everyone will agree it came out good and even better than even I had expected.

Kim and I enjoyed working on these together and we look forward to doing more. Both Kim and I are excited to see all of the Brutus Buckeye statues displayed on campus! We are both confident that these statues will bring a good amount of money to the OSU Library.
Kimberly Lattimer attended Ohio University for four years. From there, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a focus in the areas of Painting, Drawing and Photography. She received a scholarship from Columbus College of Art and Design and decided to study the areas of Advertising and Illustration.

Since 1988, she has been commissioned to do portraits of Sports Figures by various organizations and fund raising events. This led to the production and sales of Limited Edition Prints. The most successful of these prints have been “The Three Faces of Woody Hayes” and “Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler”. Both are executed in Pen and ink Crosshatching, a medium and technique that Kim has mastered and is recognized for.

Kim has displayed artwork and won awards in galleries and exhibits throughout central Ohio.

Kim currently lives in London, Ohio with her husband and three sons. She offers Graphic Design and Fine Art services from her home based business “Artistic Concepts”. She also teaches Basic Drawing, Watercolor and Calligraphy classes.

I was born in Pennsylvania, and even though I lived there, moved away and moved back several times, Columbus has been my home since 1985. Yes, I eventually stopped cheering for the Nittany Lions and have become one of many rabid Buckeye fans.

Although my degree from Pittsburgh Art Institute is in Visual Communication (Advertising) I have been involved in many different fields of art. Building props for theaters, sewing costumes, airbrushing T-shirts,T-shirt design, displays for merchandise shows and POP, computer art, fine art, and murals for residential and commercial spaces are some of the creative work I have undertaken.

I did 8 of the fiberglass corn statues that were done in 2003 and jumped at the chance to reinvent the Buckeye. I love to brainstorm and am still thinking of different Brutuses (Brutii?) that would be fun to do.
