WHAT IS "BRUTUS ON PARADE"?
Brutus On Parade is an amazing & exciting program developed by The Ohio State University to assist in raising funds for the renovation of The William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library.

The Parade is designed to draw thousands of visitors who will have a substantial economic impact on Greater Columbus. The benefits for local businesses, sponsors, & designers are innumerable. All while profoundly contributing to the renovation of a historic Columbus & campus landmark.

Brutus Buckeye will be the canvas to highlight local designers and businesses.

Brutus needs your help, so let's have some FUN!

You can join the Parade by sponsoring a Brutus Statue.
Sponsorships are limited to only dozens of Brutus Statues.

What is the purpose of Brutus On Parade?
Brutus On Parade is an event organized to help raise funds for the renovation of the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library.
Where will the sculptures be placed?
The Brutus statues will be located at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the Ohio State Main Campus. Maps detailing the locations of the sculptures are available in the "MAPS" section of this site.
When will the sculptures be on display?
The statues will be on display from August to October 2008
How big are the Brutus sculptures?
Each Brutus starts off as a 6'2", 150lb fiberglass statue although many have been altered to stand taller and weigh more. They also have a 2000 lbs. concrete base to keep them stable.
Can the sculpture be altered?
Yes, in some cases the Brutus statue was altered, but only after their design and changes were approved by the Brutus On Parade Committee.
How are the designs selected?
The sponsors select from designs submitted by designers from all over. The sponsors also have the option to independently contract with local/regional designer and/or had designers and creative people from their business or organization decorate their Brutus.
What will happen when the parade is over?
Some sponsors have already purchased their Brutus and will be able to do what they wish with it. All other Brutus' will be up for adoption in November at a live auction sponsored by the organizing consortium. The proceeds will go to support the renovation of the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library.
